The Valley of Flowers is situated on the Pushpawati River. The trek to the Valley of Flowers begins from Govind Ghat, which is an 11-hour drive from Rishikesh. The valley stretches 10 km in length and 1 km in width, at an altitude of 3200-3600 meters above sea level. The flowers in the valley bloom from June to October, showcasing a diverse range of alpine vegetation. Some of the abundant varieties include Balsam, Angelica, Anemone, Cobra Lily, Blue Poppy, Marsh Marigold, Forget-me-not, and many more.

Rataban Peak and Tipra Glacier are located at the boundary of the valley. This destination caters to adventurers, botanists, photographers, and nature lovers alike, providing peace and satisfaction to all who visit. The journey to this amazing trek begins from Haridwar. The journey from Haridwar to Ghangaria takes about 12 hours. On the left side of Ghangaria lies the Valley of Flowers, while Hemkund Sahib is on the right. Both places can be visited on separate days.

How To Reach

  • By Air: Fly to Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport, the nearest airport to Rishikesh. From Dehradun, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Rishikesh or Haridwar. Continue your journey by road from Rishikesh or Haridwar to Govind Ghat as mentioned above.
  • By Train: Reach Haridwar or Rishikesh by train, as both cities are well-connected by rail. From Haridwar or Rishikesh, proceed by road to Govind Ghat, either by taxi or bus.
  • By Road: Start your journey from Rishikesh or Haridwar, which are well-connected cities in Uttarakhand. Hire a taxi or take a bus to Govind Ghat, the nearest roadhead to the Valley of Flowers. The road journey takes around 9-10 hours from Rishikesh and slightly less from Haridwar, depending on traffic and road conditions.

Yes, we will provide sleeping bag, tent, mattress. It is among the central equipment.

How many trekkers do you take in a group?

To run a batch we need 6 people and maximum batch size 25 people.

What is the age limit?

We allow minimum 7 years kid in this trek and maximum depend on trekker’s fitness.

Is this a good trek for a first timer?

Yes, we recommend this trek to first timer as well as experienced one. Make sure that you should have good fitness. People suffering from Bronchitis, Asthma, High blood pressure, Epilepsy (got faints), TB , Heart problem or on higher BMI side are strictly not allowed to go on any Himalayan trek. Apart from this if you had any medical history, please let us know.
